Dancing With Fire

Parker's POV

I went out for the morning to get my mind off of Torrance's tirade. She was really pushing me lately. I wasn't sure what to do about the little bitch anymore. She didn't want to listen to me and I can't be with her if she doesn't but I love her and can't stand the thought of losing her.

But what to do?

I walked around town for a while then headed back to the house. When I got there Torrance was in the livingroom drinking a cup of coffee watching TV.

I walked over and sat in the chair across from the couch she was sitting on. "Are you thinking sensible now?"

She nodded. "Yes and I still feel the same, Parker. I won't be your puppet anymore. I'm tired of it. Nick would have never treated me this way." I saw the pain cross her eyes speaking of him. He caused all of her troubles and I was there to pick up the pieces.

"The hell with Nick." I narrowed my eyes at her and stood up pointing my finger in her face. "You will listen to me, Torrance. That's the bottom line."

She stood up and poked me in the chest with every word. "NO, Parker. I. Will. Not. Listen. To. You. I. Am. Not. Your. Play. Thing." She turned and walked into the kitchen.

I followed her and grabbed her arm, she jerked it away. "Keep your damn hands off of me, PARKER TRAVERS!!!" I saw the anger in her eyes.

Through gritted teeth I said, "YOU'RE dancing with fire, Torrance! You better quit this shit and now."

"NO, Parker. I told you I'm tired of it. Now leave me alone for once in your life." She smirked after she said that.

I narrowed my eyes. "Something funny, Torrance?"

"Yes, YOU!"

"And what's so funny about me?"

"That damn look on your face like you just ate a big heaping pile of crap. It's the funniest thing I've ever saw." She was in a fit of giggles. Which pissed me off even more.

"Get out of my house, Torrance. And DO NOT come back." I pointed toward the door.

She sat her coffee cup down and stopped laughing, staring me in the eyes with no emotion. "Not a problem. See ya later, Parker." She walked passed me out the door.

I stood in the kitchen stunned. Did she really leave me? Or did I just throw out the one girl I love? I sunk down into a kitchen chair trying to think.
