Something's Not Right

Torrance's POV

Things with Nick have been going great. I keep getting little threats from Parker though. Whether it be through notes, face-to-face or texts. But he hasn't caused much trouble since he stopped me on my way to work about a week ago.

I kept glancing at the clock. God I was so ready for this day to be over.

Drumming my finger nails on the counter as the minutes ticked by. Finally, 6 O'clock came and I clocked out. Walking out into the leaf strewn street I inhaled deeply. "Fresh air." It was always so stuffy in that library.

I started back toward my house, this uneasy feeling washing over me as I went. Something wasn't right. I paused at the end of my driveway wondering if I should continue on or turn back and go find Nick or someone to come check things out first. I knew Nick wasn't suppose to be around for the next couple of days so there was no use in trying to find him. I wouldn't know where to start to look. I took a deep breath, and put on my big girl panties. I walked the length of my driveway and unlocked the door. When I opened it I immediately smelled garlic. What the hell?

I slowly shut my door and pulled my wand out. I turned the corner into my kitchen and saw Parker standing there. "What the fuck do you think you're doing, Parker Gregory Travers?" I shouted at him, making him jump and twirl around to look at me. "You are not going to get me back, get over it."

"Don't be so rude, Torrance." I gritted my teeth listening to that come from him. "Rude? Me? You have got to be kidding me?" He shook his head. "Listen to me you low life piece of shit, I'm not the one that broke into the girl he lied to her boyfriend, his cousin, to get her to be with him. And who never would fuck him because he was always screwing some WHORE off the street! NOW GET OUT!" I pointed toward the door. I was beyond pissed at him.

"I'm offended. I just came here to be nice and cook you dinner. I know Nick isn't around so I thought you could use the company." I wasn't buying into his shit. "No, Parker. I don't need YOUR company. I'll do just fine by myself, thank you very much." I put one hand on my hip the other with my wand still pointed at Parker. "Put that thing away, will ya?" He asked me. Does he take me for a fool? I shook my head. "No way, Parker. As soon as I do you'll attack me like you usually do."

"I'm not here to do anything, just be nice." I raised my brow at him. "Yeah, right!" I protested.

I moved my wand as he moved around the kitchen. He was pathetic. "Just sit down and eat." I shook my head. I refuse to fall into any trap he has. "It's not going to work, Parker." He looked at me confused. "What ARE you talking about?" He fixed two plates and sat them down on the table beginning to eat without me. Fuck it, what the hell! If he's eating it, it couldn't be to bad right?

I sat down across from him my wand laying on the table, something just seemed weird about this. I mean when I was living with Parker he only cooked for me a couple of times. Why now? I picked up my fork and looked at him curiously. "You're sure you're not up to something? I'm not going to eat this and then kill over am I?" I was suspicious and I wasn't going to hide it from him. A second long smirk played at the corner of his mouth. "Of course not, what kind of person do you take me for, Torrance?"

"Are you kidding me? Do you really want me to answer that truthfully?" I choked out, trying to keep from laughing.

"Yeah, I do since you find it so funny." He grinned, why was he smiling and grinning and smirking so damn much?

"You are a selfish pig headed no good piece of shit ASSHOLE! Oh, and you're a fucking bastard who I wish would just take a hint that I DON'T want him and leave me the hell alone and let me be happy." I growled through gritted teeth.

He shook his head. "You always did have a mouth on you. Now eat!"

I sighed, defeated and finally started eating. About halfway through my meal I started feeling funny. I got light headed and went to stand up to go get some air and hit the floor, everything went black. That's the last thing I remember.
