Torrance's POV
After going shopping and finding a light blue sun dress and sandals to match. I returned home and showered, getting dressed, fixing my hair....all the normal predate stuff. I went downstairs to the kitchen grabbing a water and waiting on Nick to pick me up, my nerves getting the best of me. I shouldn’t be so nervous. We’ve dated before. Hell, we lived together for a year. Why am I so nervous?
I went to the door when I heard a knock, looking through the peephole to make sure it was Nick, then I lifted my spells and opened the door, smiling. "Hi." I said, blushing a little. God, I was hopeless. Nick's eyes traveled over me, "Wow you look......amazing." I blushed even redder. "Thank you. You look rather handsome yourself." I winked at him, looking at the roses. "Are those for me?" He always was a gentleman. I couldn’t believe he acutally bought me roses. He nodded and handed me the flowers, "I thought I should do this date thing right." He smiled.
I took the flowers. "They're beautiful." I smiled, "Would you like to come in while I put these in some water?" He walked in behind me, shutting the door, and followed me into the kitchen. "I can't stop staring at you, Torr." He smiled crookedly. "I've missed this." I smiled. "You're not the only one, Nick." I grabbed a vase from under the sink and filled it with water and placed the roses in it, placing them in the center of the kitchen table. I turned around and saw Nick looking at me, making me blush. I looked sown hoping he didn’t see me blushing.
"You ready to go? I was thinking I'd take you back to that little Italian place....You remember? The one on the beach?" I smiled. "How could I forget? It was our first date." I walked over to him, taking his hand. "I'm ready." He kissed me lightly on the cheek before apparating us to the beach. We were seated at a table on the patio overlooking the water. I sighed. "This brings back alot of memories." I turned to him smiling. He nodded, still staring at me, "It does. I really never thought we would be back here together again." He looked out over the water.
I shook my head. "Neither did I." I turned my head so he wouldn’t see the saddness in my eyes thinking about it all. He reached across the table, taking my hand in his, "All of that doesn't matter now. We're here together. That's what's important."
I turned back to him. "You're right. Now, is all that matters." I stared into his eyes. "I always believed somehow we would be together again." I wasn’t sure what it was but deep down I had always had this feeling we would be together again someway or another.
Nick squeezed my hand and smiled. "So...How are you? Have you had any more trouble from Parker?"
"I'm doing good. I have a job and I'm buying the house I live in." I shook my head. "No, I haven't heard from him since...." My voice trailed off remembering my last encounter with Parker. "Hopefully you won't have to deal with him again. I made myself pretty clear when I ...uh.......spoke to him last."
I raised my brow at him. "I'm sure." I smiled, pretty much knowing how he made himself clear with Parker. "So what have you been into since you came here?"
"Living off my savings account." He laughed, "I need to find something to do soon though so I can get a place of my own." I laughed. "Yeah, that would probably help. I'm lucky I found such a nice lady to rent to own from. Because I had no money and nowhere to go the day you found me on the bench."
"You should have told me. Not that I really gave you a chance though...." The waiter comes and we order, he comes back with glasses of wine. "Well, I thought about telling you when you were suppose to come back." I shrugs. "I found work in the library and a nice place and I learned spells and enchantments to keep Parker out of the house. So I'm ok, now." I smiled taking a sip of wine. I promised myself I wouldn’t let Parker hurt me again and that’s damn sure what I’m going to do.
He takes a sip of his wine as well, looking out over the water. "Hey...you wanna skip dinner and take a walk?" He nodded towards the beach. "That sounds wonderful." She giggled. Nick put money on the table and then took my hand as we leave. We walk down to the water, hand in hand. I smiled as we walk, leaning my head against his arm.
His arm goes around my waist as we walk. He put his face to the top of my head, kissing it, "You smell like strawberries."
"My favorite shampoo." I giggled. "I changed it from Vanilla to strawberry about 6 months ago."
We walk alone in silence for a little while. He stopped and picks up a shell, handing it to me. "A souvenir." I blushed, "Thanks." He always did know the little things that could make me smile. "What do you plan on trying to do...as in a job?"
He shrugged one shoulder, "I don't know. I don't want to be stuck behind a desk, I know that much. I'll figure something out. I have some time. Hey, do you remember what movie we watched on our first date?"
"Of course. We watched There's Something About Mary." I laughed. "Why?"
He stopped walking, holding his hands out, flicking his wand at his empty hand, the movie appears and he handed it to me, "What do ya say?"
"Really?" I grinned. "Yes, I would love to. Where we going? Back to my place or to Damien's house?"
"You're place. It's much more quiet." He winked at me and apparated us there. We cuddled on the couch and settled in to watch the movie. We didn’t watch much of it, we couldn’t keep our hands off of each other or keep from kissing one another. I had missed it all so much.
After the movie ended we said goodnight and Nick kissed me then apparated back to Damien’s. I couldn’t believe how well that went. Parker didn’t try to interfere or anything. It was absolutely amazing. I think Nick and I might be getting back on track where we should have never left from.
I walked up stairs and changed pulling on the clean shirt of his that I still had from when we were living together and collapsed on the bed exhausted, falling into a restless sleep.
